Making my first trip to Cameroon. Need to fly into Douala. Traveling with guns..Any recommendations on airlines or cities to avoid in transity? If your parents didn't have any children chances are you won't either.

I’m flying there in February on Turkish Airlines. They have a good schedule with the only stop from USA being Istanbul. For me, it’s about a 24 hour layover but that gives me a chance to see a fascinating city. My safari company seems to prefer Turkish over the other options.

Thanks for the reply. Did you look at the procedure for the transport of firearms on Turkish Air? It seems a bit complicated. If your parents didn't have any children chances are you won't either.

I would strongly advise that you use a good travel agent with experience booking international hunters who travel with firearms. Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.

I always use Gracy Travel and/or EEM Logistics for handling firearms permits. For me, it’s worth the small cost to know it’s done right by people who do this for a living, no matter which airline I’m flying to whatever country I’m hunting.
