I wonder how many innocent people have died and/or were beaten and threatened by the Zanu-PF thugs this time around. Obviously, over 1 million people were dis-enfanchised from voting again, and most of them in rural areas that support the MDC. Sad that Mugabe still remains in power and that the Zimbabwean people continue to suffer. thumbdown

Did anyone have any doubts about the results?

The only way Mugabe is going to loose an election is when he is 6 feet under ground!

Don't for a moment think that anything will change after the bastard croaks. All that will happen is another murderous lunatic will take over. Confused

By god. I have to agree with you Steve.
All his cronies have to be well entrenched.
Matter of survival.
Oh boy, I grew up in Commie country. It takes something very drastic to change things and sometimes a few generations.
Well, I thought maybe it might change a bit.
Tsvangirai seems well read, but Old Bob will hang in there until he drops dead.

Can you imagine the crimes he would be charged with if he were not in power.
He HAS to stay in power for his own survival.

I have to say, this time I think we were all shocked at the margin of victory. While there is fraud (the biggest example being the disqualification of expatriate Zimbos), the election points to the fact that there is obviously a large base that supports Mugabe ... the economy is improving and Bob is an expert at rabble rousing. He takes credit for every positive thing and blames the US/Britain/Whites for every negative thing. Same thing happens in RSA .. the ANC fails to deliver but the voters vote for them anyway. You cannot assume that the voters are informed or able to vote their own best interests. I think Zim is headed for darker times ... more confiscation, no foreign investment, and more race baiting. There will be a "do over" when Bob finally snuffs it. That will be the country's very last chance in our lifetimes.

Both Zanu-PF and the ANC are communist block trained terrorist organisations. The only way they operate is by threat or purchase. [social grants and dispensations to "friends?"
