even though my hunt is a couple months away from now, but while at clinic today I checked on the PCR test and they will do it for 198.00 ouch! but did not ask about time turn a round to catch my flight. so stopped by Walgreens and they do it for free BUT was told they could not guarantee it would be back in my hands in the 72 hour window before flight leaves, problem is have to leave home at 5:00 am to go to airport (125 miles away) to get thru check in and TSA check before 10:00 am flight so need paperwork by night before.has anyone ran into this before flight causing you to miss flight? thanks Jim

Imay be wrong but I think you now have to get the test no later than 24 hours before your flight.

Yeah.. Its a dance for sure.. I get mine at my local CVS and they have always returned it within 2 days and it is online so you can retrieve it while you drive. If it doesn’t come thru there are sharks at the airport that will bleed you a few hundred for an immediate test…

24 hours is for returning to the states, most other countries it is 72 hours…

That is only to get back to the USA. Entering South Africa only requires a 72 hours turn around PCR. For the USA, you can do a rapid Antigen test, which gives results in about 10 minutes, so the 24hr turnaround is no issue at all.
Saying all of this, South Africa are looking at scrapping testing requirements altogether, or at the least, scrapping the need for a PCR.

There are various services that can get you quick results . They can cost . I just paid $395 to get results in a half hour .

Passport Health has a number of facilities around the country . They get fast results. There are others.

I am going to guess that you will be flying out of Sioux Falls.
This is the only one that I found that is open for testing 24 hours a day, 7 days of the week.

Sanford University of South Dakota Medical Center
1305 W 18th St, SD 57105
Open 12:00 am - 11:59 pm
Test results in <1 hour
You will need to call them for pricing.

You do know that your on the wrong side of the RIVER...
