I does happen, earlier this year we were on a domestic flight and when boarding, the gentleman that I followed thru the scanner at boarding sat across the isle from us and right before they closed the door another guy showed up with the same seat assignment...the first guy was supposed to be flying in the same seat on an earlier flight from the gate but to a different city. I watched the gate agent scan his boarding pass. Really inspires confidence in our system. This was on Delta out of Seattle.

You know what makes me laugh?

A while back they insisted that power packs had to be carried in the carry on bags, because they are dangerous in the hold.

Now they insist they have to be carried in the hold??

What difference would it make if they have an explosive charge??

The mind boggles!

Interesting how all of the problems in this and the other events lately seem to originate with the gate personnel.

In this case not correctly reading the pass.
In the case of the lady with the stroller not showing her the correct procedure prior to boarding.
In the case of the doctor not asking for volunteers prior to boarding.

Seem these airlines need to send their folks back to school to reinforce what they should be doing. They worry a lot about threats but ignore the rest of the procedures.
