The sad thing about it, once some thugs get away with something like this, others emulate them until it becomes commonplace.

A few years back, a similar situation was occurring in Louisiana. It got so bad, the law was changed to
allow people to shoot attempted carjackers.

That slowed down the carjackings considerably.

This has been going on in RSA since the ANC took over. At one time in that country a guy invented a flame thrower system you could fit to your car. Another guy invented an immobilizer with a timer so car would shut down a few miles down the road. Shootout with 2 thugs you had better know what you are doing.

Bottom line, JNB is now a festering 3rd world sore. Avoid it if you can.

First time I flew into JNB in 2002 the PH had an armed escort to the vehicles in the parking garage. Another PH that I subsequently had would always place a .45 in his lap when we entered the city limits. He told me that he had shot two carjackers over the years.
