I am researching business class fares from Miami to Joburg and found teally good deals via São Paulo Brazil on LATAM. Anyone flown with them before? As an FYI, LATAM used to be LAN.

Yes, but not with a firearms. I would have no problems taking any LATAM flight in business. And you get to collect AA or BA miles too.

787?

Jdollar...
I just found some great fares out of FTL and Orlando on Emirates.
Like $1,000 and only $4k for business class through Dubai..check out the FTL flight. It's been on sale.

I have flown LATAM more often than I care to and only use them out of necessity. Their service is inconsistently anywhere from good to "are you serious!?!?!?!" Disclaimer: My experiences are limited to flying within Latin America; no US departure or return.

I will try to summarize last years experiences: lost luggage, long delays and cancellations, change of aircraft configuration with passengers left to sort it out, complete inability to coordinate with any airline to include co-shares, ability to take rudeness above and beyond.....

I actually had good experiences when they were LAN.

The LATAM flight out of Miami is $2324. 29 hours over and 36 back via São Paulo. I need 2 seats so the savings is $3400 over Emirates. A significant amount....

Check Qatar Air. It's about the same total time and costs less than that. $1160.00 per person next next month - not sure when you were traveling.

Just a thought...

$1160 for business class? Right now Qatar is about $4600 per ticket. Traveling in mid Sept.

Gocha, but you know the drill with Qatar Air - book the cheapest fair and then upgrade to Business. I generally fly all four legs in Business for $3,100.00 +/-.

All things being equal, it is difficult to beat Qatar Air service.

I’ve flown LAN/LATAM many times within South America and also the long haul route out of Miami to Santiago. I’ve had pleasant experiences for the most part. They’ve been cordial and took care of me with missedconnection due to weather, etc.

Wife and I really enjoyed our Qatar flight last May. But with my luck, if I bought 2 coach tickets and tried to upgrade at the last minute, there would only be one( or none) available!!!
