I will probably be toasted for this observation. By I fly in Asian airlines wherever possible. I worked as a language teacher for both Thai Air and Bangkok Air several years ago teaching English to middle and upper management. Company policy for both was "air hostesses" had to be under age 30, single, attractive and slim. Most of the air hostesses are under 50 kilos in weight. You could put 2 in a jump seat I think. They are polite, helpful and easy on the eyes. Not like the middle aged pushing senior status, buffalo sized bad attitude beasts that man the US international flight crews.

Flying back from Vancouver to London on BA.

Over night flight.

Got up in the morning and was heading to the bathroom.

Two middle aged stewardesses, over weight, were having breakfast.

One said “good morning sir, would you like some breakfast?”

I had this urge to say “ is there anything left after your breakfast?”

But I decided to be polite for a change and just no thank you.
