I'm in process of making arrangements for a PG Hunt to RSA followed by a few days relaxing at a Lodge at Sabi Sands.

My question is: What do you expect out of me as a client? I want to be a great client/customer/hunter, thoughtful and consicerate and timely. But what do you need for me to do to make the process and hunt better and to make things easier for you.

Just a thought, thanks in advance.

Always remember it's YOUR safari and vacation so don't sweat it. The first person you need to satisfy is yourself...... however, to answer your question:

Ideally. Shoot straight, leave the tape measure at home, handle your booze and try to treat the staff correctly but most of all.............. HAVE FUN AND ENJOY MOMENT OF YOUR SAFARI!

Oh, and you're also gonna have an absolute ball at Sabi Sands! tu2 tu2tu2tu2

I've walked, driven and flown that area and some other nearby areas extensively and it's fantastic. tu2 tu2tu2tu2

Best advice to enjoy your safari and please your PH is to practice your shooting before you depart. Practice, practice, practice; then go out and practice some more. It always amazes me how people can save and dream and then go on safari only to miss their shots or make poor (wounded) shots on the game they came to hunt.

Agreed - shoot, shoot & shoot some more!

Get used to using sticks - and this means moving to the set up tripod, and getting a shot into the target AREA asap.

Precision is a wonderful thing, but far too many folks agonize over perfect shot placement and instead of squeezing the trigger, watch helplessly at the quarry walking out of shot.

Have a ball! Smiler

Ed,

First relax! Basically follow the PH's recommendations in the field. He probably knows a great deal about his craft and you can assume he probably has your best interest in mind. Go with the flow as the routine may change every day. Just let the hunt unfold as it will. Most of all have fun.

Absolutely not! Smiler

One of the best things about the croc fishing area is that I've also got a leopard licence for it (for this year) and croc fishing timings fit in perfectly with croc fishing timings! tu2

ED,
practice off sticks there are a couple of tricks to using them. I screwed up a very easy shot on a water buck due to nerves and sticks mostly nerves. But I redeamed myself the next day.and I did get revenge on the water buck a few days later and have FUN that's the best part I think I managed that rotflmo rotflmo for an expert opinion you would have to ask the PH I was with.

check with Steve ( Shakari) Robinson. www.shakariconnection.com
He can help and his web site is full of good information. His web site helped me a lot before my first hunt and him and his lovely wife Susan are amazing people.
