I haven't traveled to Africa since I started using the TSA luggage locks and wanted to know if anyones knows if these locks are a problem in Africa or Europe? Are they going to end up cutting them off anyway since it is a U.S. thing?

I have traveled all over Europe, Mexico, China and Africa using them. It is a TSA issue, not a USA issue. They recognize them in every country I have been to and are about as safe and useful as a twist tie on a sack of bread. Anyone that wants in them already has a master, crooks or employees, etc. It does help the bag from accidentily opening. Don't let any lock on a bag give you a false sense of security. When the airline does require a locked guncase, they do meet the requirements, just don't forget the earlier statement... drwes
