Wesley,

You can just fly out of Atlanta to JNB and then take another flight to Lusaka much the same as going to Harare. I prefer to fly to London on BA. You then can fly direct to Lusaka from London. The London route breaks up the trip and I arrive without any jetlag.

Joyce and I did the same with British Air. This next trip we are going to try Emirates since BA is getting stingy on the mileage tickets and charge a ridiculous "fuel surcharge". Ends up like buying a coach ticket.

I have hunted zambia three times, with the last fall. Plus my Zambian PH commutes from the states. His favorite route was on the old BA non-stop from London. Now that that has ended, he doesn't know what he'll do. He hates South African Air. Myself, have had good luck with South African out of Kennedy (New York). That flight gets you into Jo'burg early in the day to catch the daily flight to Lusaka. Delta and the Dulles flights generally require a lay-over in Jo'burg. Now, for the adventure traveler. I see that Turkish Air via Istanbul ( a buddy of mine is trying that this summer), Kenyan Air, Air Namibia and Emeriates Flu to Lusaka. Also, the Zimbabwean airline as well, from Harare. Good Luck!
