Plagiarized from another forum, but still good news I think.

Any competition from the US to Africa is good. Maybe Delta will feel the heat and provide better, cheaper service (yeah right). Maybe flight DL200/201 won't be soooo booked during the peak season (yeah right).

Anywho, the schedule will be important. If one can get from ATL to AMS to WDH without an overnight at Amsterdam then life is good. Too bad KLM and Delta don't code share.

Fingers crossed...

Oh I don't know. A night in Amsterdam can be a whole lot of fun. I thought Delta and KLM were freq flyer partner?

Oh, but they do. I just got back from a combo Delta/KLM trip to Scandinavia. All was booked on a Delta ticket through the Delta website, but three of the six flights were on KLM-operated flights. The first overseas leg was Atlanta to Amsterdam on KLM. The return overseas flight was on Delta.

I've never traveled KLM with guns, but my understanding is that KLM requires advance notice and that transiting through Schipol requires a permit from the Dutch authorities.

last time i was on a klm flight to joberg they bashed my heavy aluminum gun case so hard that they bent the scope on the rifle. the way it was done showed a deliberate action. haven't used klm since

I have flown KLM a number of times to Tanzania. Schipol (Amsterdam) is easy to navigate, and the only real issue is for flying to the US, they do make you jump through some extra security loops.

The gun permits there have been seamless for me using Gracy, but their policy of not issuing them until just a few days before you fly can be an issue.

Eta... They are not bow friendly or knife friendly at Amsterdam. No bladed stuff in your checked bags.

To be honest, it's folding knives. Hunting rifles are r gistered. I guess folding knives don't have a use if the blade is over some small size. Broadheads are a no-no though, not that it affects me.
