I understand that as long as we have our vaccination cards, we won’t need any COVID tests flying from the USA via Dubai to Harare and back.

I can’t believe this thing is finally over.

I leave for Jamaica on Friday and they quit requiring Covid testing a week ago. The US apparently still requires one to get back home but the resort furnishes them free of charge.

I’m going to Guam next week through Tokyo. No test paperwork is required, but I’m bringing it just in case.

You need a Covid test to come back to the USA within day day before your return.

I guess that’s right. Leave it to the USA to lead from behind.

Very true and typical of the current CDC's confusing policies regarding COVID. I actually flew into Pakistan and Ethiopia this year and their policies were much more "common sense" than a "negative PCR test within 24 hour policy" the U.S. has in place. The question begs why fully vaccinated and boosted travelers have to jump through the same hoops as non-vaccinated to get onto a plane bound for home? Ridiculous and expensive, not to mention a bit unnerving... but pretty much sums up the overabundance of caution the current nanny state imposes on it's citizens.

I guess you can tell the travel segments of my trips weren't my favorite! At least we are not totally locked down as China is...

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
- Rudyard Kipling

I don't need a negative test to get to Harare via Dubai or when leaving to get back to the UK in August. That's only because I am fully vaccinated.

With kind regards

I'm hoping that requirement ends within the month. We're going on holiday in May and returning to the US in June.

I have a little more time than you, but I share your hope.

As Russ says, why all the hoops at this late (or game over) stage of the game?
