Greetings fellow adventurers,

Its been 4 years since our last RSA trip. Wife and I are headed to RSA, leaving ATL on Delta to Joberg on April 21, and leaving Joberg on Delta on May 5. Any current advise for our trip?

Delta website does not specifically specify ammo cant be shipped to RSA in the same case as the firearms, so do I need to ship in a locked case separate from the firearms in a checked bag? I plan to leave the unused ammo with my PH.

Thanks for the advice!
Rob

The issue with Ammo in a separate container is coming back from Africa when you check in on the way home. Going there, Delta checks your bags and they are fine with your ammo being in your suitcase.

Ammunition needs to be packed in a locked bag/container and in factory like packaging with separations between cartridges.

I believe that you meant to say that you are going t shoot all your left over ammunition at the end of the hunt.

Delta has no problem, at this ti!e with ammo in the guncase, any connections once you reach South africa, ammo "usually" needs to be out of the gun case.

Yes! Internal RSA flights will probably require you to check your ammo as a separate piece of luggage. Make sure the whole ammo box with ammo weighs less than 11# and it is locked with TSA locks so that TSA can check it on this end if necessary.

(1) Must have a US 4457 with an expiration date after your trip.

(2) I would not stay around the airport, stay at City lodge or Intercontinental at the airport it's safer.

Yeah, that's what I meant!

So going over I can pack the ammo in with the Rifles?
