Stockton is where they are testing the "universal income"....

Why would we expect anything less than the same level of stupidity at the municipal airport..

No to mention it is in California which is right behind (or maybe in front) of the UK in going down the shitter...

Stockton is about an hour from my home, and yes it is a pretty screwed up town with lots of gang problems and just a lower tier place overall. But, Allegiant Airlines by comparison makes Stockton look pretty good.

Allegiant is am awful airline and I don’t know why anyone flies them. Hell, they charge extra for seat assignment, extra for bags, extra for everything! I’ve never flown Allegiant and never will. Even without anyone in the tower, the weather in Northern California this time of year is very consistent. We do not get storms this time of year. The wind, when there is any, is very consistent in coming in from San Francisco Bay, so makes an easy upwind approach for Stockton’s one runway.

To make matters worse, Sacramento International Airport is only about 35-40 miles north of there and they could very easily get a weather report from there, as both cities have the same weather all the time. Pilot must have been too stupid to think of that. And, why didn’t he just call his dispatcher to get a current report from them? Lousy city, lousy airline, dumb pilot, these poor passengers got the trifecta.

17 hour flight...

They could have driven from Vegas to Stockton in 7 1/2 hours!

Funny you mention extra charges for seats etc.

Ryan Air and Easy Jet do that in Europe.

But, they provide infinitely better services, and cheaper, than major airlines within Europe.
