Am booked on Lufthansa on an A380 When I fly on the 747 I always have to take extra entertainment as Lufthansa don't have personal in flight entertainment.

Anybody flown lufthansa peasant class on the A380? what is the leg room like and what's the on board entertainment like?

Ganyana, my friend:

Why don't you try www.seatguru.com

It has diagrams, suggested seats, bad seats, pitch and entertainment, a/c power, etc. for about any airline and aircraft.

Once or twice I've found the information incorrect because the airline reconfigured the seating, but most of the time, the data is invaluable

I still owe you a drink. Will be in Zim from mid July to the first of August. Can I repay?

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

Flew one last December - JBG/FRA

You'll be just fine - plenty of fun stuff - including a couple of external cameras that you can toggle between...liked the one on the tail looking forward best while taking off and landing...ya you'll be just fine even with leg room - plenty for us regulars Smiler

P.S. It takes long time to board the thing.

I've flown Qantas A380 a couple of times.

If you can't book a row seat or one with a little bit more leg room, spend the extra and buy the better seats, especially on a long journey.

I found them great and worth the extra $$$.

Judge... sadly will be hunting water buffalo and cammels in the land of dust and dog Sh#t in late July and then stag in Scotland in early August.

The flight to Ausie tooks good- got bumped up to Buisness class on a 747.

The problem with Lufthansa is they don't have economy extra or proper inlight enteertainment on the older 747's they use for the Africa routes. The last three flight I have booked through Lufthansa I have ended up on United or SAA. In United I paid for the upgrade to economy extra and SAA works just fine

I have a light plane African IFR license...I follow roads. Flying a cub I can usually be sure that after taking off I will still land somewhere in Africa Wink

NB..Real aircraft have a machinegun to scare critters off the runway with and perhaps provide something for the evening braai.
