flying delta with rifle
Hello.
I have to fly with delta to anchorage from europe (madrid) and I dont know how will it be to fly delta with rifle.
Did you experience any trouble with them recently? How much did they charge you for the rifle transport?

Thank you and best regards

I used Delta from Tulsa Ok. to Uganda last yr with NO problem at all. In fact all the staff wanted to know about hunting in africa. there asked a lot of questions just out of curiosity and personal interests. Just make sure the airlines KNOWS you are traveling with the rifles at least three days before your flight. if you re using a travel agent who is use to booking for hunters they should do the notification for you.

Are you flying through Amsterdam? If so, you will need the right paperwork to transit AMS with firearms. If flying Madrid to the US, you are fine.

I always allow plenty of connection time. I assume you are connecting through Atlanta. That airport often has delays, although I think international flights get priority.

We were in Madrid for New Year's Eve on Dec 31, 1999. I will never forget watching that big clock strike midnight while "Fanfare for the Common Man" played. What a party Plaza Mayor was...

I fly Delta with hunting handguns all the time and have never been disappointed with their service.

The unknown for me would be going through Europe -- I have never been able to do that with my handguns because of local law, although I understand that folks do it with rifles all the time. But, I'm guessing that even rifles require you to do your homework well before departure and pray a lot after US takeoff. I'd fly from the states even with a rifle instead of handguns.

When you get bored with life, start hunting dangerous game with a handgun.
