Hello, We are traveling to Zim in June 08. We are going to use our backpacks as carry on. They are Nimrods with their no see um camo. I have heard there is no camo in Zim and that some airlines don't like it. Don't want to have them confiscated and can't find any information other than no camo "clothes" in Zim. Would a backpack be considered clothing? Our outfitter said they "thought" would be ok as long as we didn't wear at the airport.Anyone have any answers? | ||

Back in 2003 my friend carried a camo back pack and he was stopped and searched at every airport. What makes this even worse is that I am a diabetic and was carry needles and syringes in my black back pack and I was just waved thru. Good Hunting,  | |||

SBP Why take any chances on something as avoidable as this? Even IF you make it through the airlines and connecting airports, I recommend not doing [or wearing] ANYTHING that might attract unnecessary attention by the various authorities in Zimbabwe. A substitute day pack/carry on is really a small price to pay to avoid any issues. The outfitter saying " they 'thought' it would be OK" is, in my experience, reason enough to avoid it.
