Has anyone tried traveling with catridges left in their ammo belts\pouches? Do the airlines generally require them to be in a box\carton of some type?...within a locked carrier of course.
I have a few manufacturer boxes but would like to leave rounds in a leather belt. I have a locking, padded briefcase I usually carry ammo in and would like to just throw the cartridges\belts inside without having to put everything back into a manufacturer box\plastic box\shellholder.

Almost universally, airlines require that ammunition must be packed in ammunition boxes.
