Planning trip to Zim in oktober. Anybody any update on the firearm embargo on Zim? Do you still need to check your gun to Johannesburg declare you firearm in SA and then check in to Harare?
I have done this before but can not remember how long time it took. Is 3 hours between flights enough?
Anybody tried this through Dubai?
Regards CF

Checked my gun all the way to Harare last september, from Oslo via Frankfurt and Joburg (SAS and SAA). No problem at all.

Yes but Norway is not part of the EU. Other rules may apply

Last year at this time, we went thru London with our firearms and had to make a complete stop in Joburg before starting off to Zim on a new plane ticket. Worked fine.

As far as I know all the embargoes are still in place.
I would go via Joburg and then SAA to Harare.
Use Air2000 Hunt Support to provide a meet and greet at Joburg, the temporary firearm import paperwork and book your SAA ticket for you. Three hours transfer is fine and the fee to Air2000 of approx €100 is well worth it.
I've done the trip from the UK several times this way and will again.
PM me if you need any more info.
Regards
Rob
