Pretty soon you'll end up traveling like me. Recently, flying from Sweden to US, I had my suitcase stuffed with Christmas food. I had a kg of Kalix löjrom, smoked reindeer, smoked moose, probably 6 lb's of cheese, a whole smoked eel, 12 bottles of game and veal stock and multiple bottles of aquavit.

Sweating like a whore in church I grabbed my suitcase off the carousel and walked through customs... until I was waved to the side by a very sinister looking customs lady. Cursing my bad luck I walked up to the lady, wondering if they would merely confiscate all my precious Christmas food or fine me as well.

She pointed at my plastic duty free bag and said, are those Kinder Egg? Dumbfounded, I mostly just stared at her until she explained that I would not be able to bring them into the country because toys inside are too small per US standards and pose a choking hazard.

I couldn't believe my luck but was of course sweating bullets for the 10 minutes she took filing out a confiscation report and explaining, very slowly, how I could request to b reimbursed the $7 they were worth. I was just waiting for the moment when she would say, well maybe I should check your suitcase too!

But lady luck was on my side and I sprint-walked out to my wife and said HIT IT!

Christmas dinner was everything its supposed to be!

Lol good story..You have good taste in food

This year My sister called me two weeks before christmas and asked if I could bring a present to her son.. he wanted a dog for Christmas present...me bring a dog from Sweden to Africa...Smiler anyway one of my ex girlfriends have a chihuahua kennel and I phoned her and bought a 8 week "dog".

On my whole trip to Senegal not one person asked what I had in my bag or asked any questions, in Dakar I just walked through customs no questions asked Smiler

This is my 34.4 kg food bag that I took with me.(only halfpacked at this stage)
