Damn....have one up here I'd move, but shipping might make it excessive. Let me run it through the shipping site to see what it would cost.

I found a Tuffpak 1050 w/ vending machine lock and Tuff-Sack on Craigs List.

Google can be your friend.

For new, I never found any discounted. But that was 7-8 years ago.

I bought mine direct from Naipak. I got the padlock version and am happy with it, though my research here on AR gave me the impression that more people own the keyed version. My main concern was what I’d do if I lost the key going over for a hunt, and secondarily that a few people seemed to have had their locks damaged while enroute to or from a hunt. I’ll be getting a 2nd Tuffpak this year for my son to use when we travel together and I’ll probably get the keyed version, just to have one of each.

Which model depends on if your rifle is a takedown or a fixed barrel. I have both the tall and the shorter one

I have two vendor lock, regular height versions, with Tuff Saks. tu2 It's been all over the world with me. Wouldn't transport my firearms any other way. And, by the way, I have enough firearms cases of other brands to open a store. Big Grin

Interested in a Tuffpak as well. Anyone ever had a problem with keyed vendor lock version? Short of someone intentionally taking a drill to it, not sure what could happen to it.

UEG makes a good point; whichever version you get, add a tuffsak. Makes it easier to load and unload, especially if doing it at airports for Customs inspectors.

Never. But, I did have some fool try and cut my webbing strap that helps to secure the top on the case. Must have been surprised by someone else while he was doing it, because he only cut about a 1/3 of the way through it. When I returned home, I stitched it up with heavy black thread. He could not have gotten into the case anyway with the vendor lock. And another YES for the Tuff Sak. Just slide it out with your rifles for inspection.

If you’re in the Dallas area, you can borrow mine. It will only cost you a BBQ lunch or a beer.

I also want a cool hunt report.

Shoot me a PM.

I'm willing to part with mine if anyone is interested. 1050 model with the vending machine style lock, including the tuff sak.

Used it once on a trip to Africa. I'm probably in the minority here in that I prefer a Pelican case for my guns over the Tuffpak.

Can't say I didn't give it a try, though.

Last year on the way back from SA I (mistakenly) allowed TSA with United Airlines person open my Tuffpak. When I got home I realized that they had broken the lock (round key). Locksmith picked it open, and I replaced it with a large keyed lock (Medco, I think) that they recommended. Key cannot be duplicated without having the original. Locksmith told me if I ever lose the key(s) they can make me a new one and ship it to me.

Hi Everyone,
In my limited experience, there is not much space in a Bush Plane. It can be handier to use two smaller boxes.

I have used the Kalispell welded aluminum case since the early eighties, lots of trips, tuff case, it seems indestructible.
