Why not? Fishing rods are allowed. Just don't call them shooting sticks!!! Used to steady binocs and cameras. Jim

i'm not so sure - a bit ago we watched tsa take a cane away from an old fellow because he could use it as a weapon, and then get a wheelchair to get him on and off the plane

Larry, I'd put the sticks in my gun case or the bottom of my duffel. You never know when some over zealous TSA ignoramous will do his best to spoil your good mood. Mark MARK H. Domestically I was told that Walking sticks are a no-no and had to be checked. I'd think shooting sticks are treated no different. IMO, Mark has it. Just check them with the rifle. Regards, Robert ****************************** H4350! It stays crunchy in milk longer!

since they are collapsible, why would you even want to carry them on a plane? that's what check in bags are for. Vote Trump- Putin’s best friend… To quote a former AND CURRENT Trumpiteer - DUMP TRUMP

I have seen metal footed walking sticks and camera tripods allowed; however, the discretion the TSA exercises makes it dicey. I think it would depend on the type of shooting sticks. The problem is not one of substance, but of bureaucratic discretion. I would say no problem outside the US with the exception of the UK. Jim

They won't fit in either. Therein lies the problem.

That worked for me too. I could not get them in my checked bag, too long. They fit fine in bottom of my gun case. Go Duke!!

I just put ours in one of the gun cases.

Don't have anything shooting related. Get yourself a good pair of collapsible walking / ski poles - I really like the black diamond carbon ones, but can't quite justify the expense at the moment - with a piece of Bungay cord or Velcro wrap turn into a pair of shooting sticks in no time. Alternatively, take Bungay cord with you. At your destination swing buy a garden centre and pick up a pair of garden canes, or just find a pair of straight poles of some description - bamboo canes etc. or use your guides.

I'm definately bringing mine next time, my PH has the Primos sticks that I notice a lot of the PH's are going to, but I do not care for those. Too narrow on the bases, can't steady off like I prefer to do. Also too tall for shooting from sitting position, was hanging rifle from sling in the crook for longer, steady shots from sitting position. I use a pair of Stoney's for travel, but keep a short pair of wooden sticks on my Mule for shooting at the ranch. The Stoney's travel fine in the bottom of the rifle case.
