I leave in less than two weeks for Zambia on Delta. I am not having any problems getting under the Delta weight restrictions. But SAA from Jo-berg to Lusada are a different story. Does anyone know if I will be able to board with both a regulation size carry on as well as a small day pack with cameras, etc? H Kittle

It looks like almost all those segments are on real airplanes , Boeing or Airbus. But one flight a day may be an ERJ, commuter size jet which could create carry on difficulty. I have not flown that flight but on other similar flights they have taken oversize carryons as you board, stored them below, and handed them back as you get off the airplane. not too bad really. Hopefully you will get the benefit of your International weight limits as well.

We had no problems on our flights inside of Africa in mid June. They made my wife on most flights check her bag as we boarded the plane, but she would take out the camera's and it was no problem. She would pick up the bag as we deaprted the plane on the little carts they have. We were on quite a few small planes 25 - 35 seaters and if you took a carry on it was stowed in the front of the plane.

I've never had any airline tell me I couldn't take the extra bag...only that I would have to check it. Yes, there is an additional fee but, really, if we're not willing to pay for the extra bagage, did we really need to take it in the first place? Just my opinion. Bull1
