FYI I sat for a couple of minutes with Shawn at the Gracy Travel booth in Reno and she informed me that their operation was now handling the firearms importation paperwork thru Johannesburg.
I was very pleased with Air 2000 when I used them two years ago but I did ask her to go ahead and handle this function for me this year. I suspect they too will do quite well.

CCMDocShawn is awesome!

She is taking care of our arrangements to Zimbabwe in September and has made the process as painless as I could imagine. It is great to work with professionals such as she, Gracy Travel and Ray Atkinson.

FrostbitAnyone use mileage with Gracy? I know they charge a fee ($300 I beleive) but I was wondering if any couples have used them with mileage and was the fee for booking both people?

Good luck with that, when they can't even remember to notify the airline that you're travelling with guns.

Use Enough GunI have used mileage twice with Gracy (Shawn) for my wife and I's trips to Africa. I can't recall if the fee charged was for both tickets or for each ticket. I just remember that it was fairly inexpensive and having the peace of mind that everything was taken care of by Shawn was wonderful.

JPennUEG,
Same as my experience, they got the upgrades we needed, we would not have been able to do so on our own, not sure about fee, but I was happy with their work, on this as well as in general.

robncoloradoI just had Shawn book my tickets from Phoenix to Joberg on BA in First Class using miles. This was the second time using my miles with her and it went smooth as silk. Cant comment on the fee structure for 2 people. How about calling her to find out.

katiesgunsI showed up in St.Louis at 4:AM to catch a flight several years ago that Shwan had booked and unknown to her the flight had been cut out 30 days before my departure date. Delta had failed to notify. I won't go into details but the net result was a biggggg plus for me due 100% to Gracey travel. Would never use anyone else.

WannabeBwanaThe measure of a company isn't how well they perform when things are going right, it's how they perform when things have gone wrong - particularly when they were the cause of the cock-up. Gracy Travel failed me miserably in that regard.
FYI, for those who are interested, here's a thread on a board my wife frequents:
http://www.chronicleforums.com...wthread.php?t=187433The woman paid $4200 for a custom made saddle, which was never satisfactorily delivered - after 2 years! Their response to their client's disatisfaction was to offer her a lower value saddle, for $600 more. This thing has gone viral, now. 19 pages, almost 400 posts, and over 25,000 views. This company could very well end up bankrupt, all because they decided to blow off one client's concerns.

MARK H. YOUNGI had a client's luggage get routed to JNB rather than straight through to Maputo in Mozambique. This would have meant going through the SAPS process in JNB with no pre approved gun permits, transiting customs, receiving luggage. Just a cluster F--- that the clients had not been prepared for. Gracy Travel was able to get BA in Heathrow to go into the hole of the airplane and change the baggage tags on my client's luggage to reflect Maputo as the final destination and not JNB. Could you ask for better service?

JTEXAugust this year will be my second trip to Africa using Gracy, both using AMEX points. Gracy charged $300.00 per ticket. First time was wonderful and I'm sure the second trip will be just as good.
