OK- i’ve flown International Business or first on Delta, United, American and Saeeds Favorite BA…… just checked in with rifles in Houston on Qatar and even the check in experience was unbelievable- they smiled , shook my hand , greeted us to “ check in”…..they were actual friendly and apologetic for the time it was taking to process firearms….. took the time to explain the process, walked me to tsa ….. made nice conversation with my wife while walking g to security……. im sold on Qatar …… if this is an example of all Middle East Carriers……. im done with the others ……

You realized Qatar uses BA's Avios for their frequent flyer program.

American is also a QA partner. I’ve used AA miles on one occasion to book a QA business ticket. Being partners doesn’t in any way equate to level of service…

Very sad situation.

Apart from Singapore Airlines, I don’t think there any airlines that can compete, service wise, with airlines from the Gulf States.

For international flights, I've found that most of the non-US airlines have better service than the US carriers.

Just flew DFW to Harare. Returned to DFW on September 6th, 2024. Business Class. Check in took a little over 40 minutes with a gun but was very friendly and professional. The planes were clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Food was very above average for airline food. The airport in Doha is easy to navigate and there are a ton of helpful Qatar people to guide you. All bags arrived in good shape including the gun case. The return flight was exactly the same except that the gun check in took even longer in Harare - the contract employees working the check-in counter were kind of surly but the actual Qatar employees were great. Would absolutes use then again.

I flew Qatar last May -- great on all counts and they make those other providers look bad to say the least. My biggest and serious problem was getting rifle from AA to Qatar in Dallas -- that was a real bugger! Thank goodness Qatar stepped up and handled the issue --AA was a big problem and no help.

OMG!-- my bow is "pull-push feed" - how dreadfully embarrasing!!!!!

I fly Qatar frequently and just returned from a TZ Ele hunt flying Qatar BC. I've never had issues traveling with rifles on Qatar. I have two safaris lined up next year and I'll be using Qatar for both.

Loved the Qatar QSuites booked on AA miles. I think the Qatar business is better than BA or AA first.
