Maybe almost fittingly, Thompson died in a canoeing accident in Algonquin Park in the 1920s. Often associated with the Group of Seven well known Canadian painters. If that's yours it's worth a few bucks, in Canada at least.  There's a Wikipedia page dedicated to them but doesn't seem to let me link.
