The man and his paintings are an inspiration to me. He was an avid African hunter as well as painter. This painting always stops me. It is of one of the most banal of hunting subjects - the 'hero' picture of hunter with his kill, we have seen a million of them and make them ourselves. But this man did his with a paintbrush and elevated this stock type of image to a different level: ![]() Here is Kuhnert actually painting while on safari. Note the guns by the side of his easel! ![]()

Far as I'm concerned, nobody beets Karl Rungius. ![]() http://jacksonholeartauction.c...st/carl_rungius.html Grizz Indeed, no human being has yet lived under conditions which, considering the prevailing climates of the past, can be regarded as normal. John E Pfeiffer, The Emergence of Man Those who can't skin, can hold a leg. Abraham Lincoln Only one war at a time. Abe Again.
