Gentlemen and Ladies, Have a friend with an inherited collection of 16 or so pieces of very finely carved traditional Japanese ivory pieces. They are legal to sell, having been assessed this year by the New York firm Ivory Experts as more than 100 years old. Auction houses are ivory shy not wanting the hassle so it seems, legal or not. But, perhaps a private and knowledgeable collector on this Board may wish to express an interest to me by PM and we shall go from there. Am willing to do the necessary to get appropriate USG export license if warranted, but those abroad would need to be aware of their home country regulations. Regards, Tim | ||
