Here is something a little different. Not fine art but perhaps folk art.
Just finished this eastern woodlands style war club with a beaver/beaver trapping theme.
Club carved with a knife from American hornbeam (ironwood) stained and aged, hand stiched handle wrap made from beaver tail, antler striker, lanyard with strips of beaver tail leather and beaver teeth.

calgarychef1I used to know a Canadian RCMP who collected such stuff. He had a club a lot like that but there were human teeth imbeded in it. The teeth weren't ornamental they were from someones mouth...must have been a horrible blow.

GraftonThanks for the comments. Here is another simple one of my own design that I whittled out of black locust with a pocket knife. Very hard wood to work with!
Not a historically correct form but certainly would do the job.
