Full stock rifle, what barrel length?

Hello all.

I need a new rifle.....So, the idea is to have a 9.3*57 made on a vintage mauser action. The rifle will be used for moose and deer hunting in Norway.
So,, I like to have it made with a full stock, but what will be the "best" barrel length? Thinking about 22" barrel. Gives me a bit more speed and reduce the muzzle blast, compared to a 18" barrel.
But, will the 22" make it look "stupid"?

Cheers all

I have a full-stocked, "Mannlicher" carbine. Mine has a 20 inch barrel and, as Goldilocks used to say, it's just right.

20" looks about right on a full/Mannlicher stocked rifle.

20", just don't send a hot round through it; something under 2,500 fps out of the barrel

Oh, a 10.75*68. Interesting.
On what action? Weight? How do it handle?

It's a vz 24 mauser, 21" barrel .655 dia at the muzzle. Weight? I havent weighed it, I should, but would guess about 7 pounds maybe a shade over. It handles like a dream, but I stocked it myself to fit me.

Jack Lott had a H&H built 375 H&H full stock that was beautifull, 24" barrel. Sako and Husqvarna made factory 22 and 24" barreled full stocked rifles I've handled and shot that were delightfull. thats why I had no reservations building mine with a 21" barrel.

Thanks all for good help.
Interesting to learn that there are even 22-24" full stocked rifles.
Guess a 20-21" will be ok.

I have several full stock carbines and really enjoy hunting with them. I have come to favor the 20" tubes for balance and the handiness that goes along with the "short rifles"
