Hey Guys,

I know this has been discussed quite a bit before, but I have to mention what an absolute gentleman Mr Vardy is.

His blanks are top notch but more importantly, he is a really great gent. Always prompt in answering emails and his customer service is spot on.

If you in need of a blank give him a shout. A wealth of knowledge and always ready to help tu2

You are right. I have bought many blanks from him. I had one that the stocker worried about. Roger sent a really nice replacement and let the stockmaker keep the old blank.

Can you post some photos of the end products of some of the rifles ?

BTW I’m in no way affiliated to Mr Vardy, just a very happy customer of his !

What kind of metalwork is in those matched pair of stocks. bottoms appear to be Blackburn, but what are the actions and barrels?

Beautiful work indeed.

They are newer blueprinted Winchester actions opened up to 3.6" to allow max powder capacity in 300 Win Mag. Pillar bedded in a sea of Marine Tex with free floated Krieger barrels.

Basically just your standard sniper rifle.

My Stockmaking Seminar students have used several sticks from Roger. Universally good, hard, stable walnut. Pretty too!

Tell me why it is so common to see a nice display of guns on here and in short order someone will copy they post so there are two identical ones.

Isn't that the #1 that I posted of Roger's. He sent me that photo a while back. I sold him my #1 and sent it to Guane Wiebe. Maybe he will have another nice one.
Metal, I just love that #1!

How does that Floor plate work and magazine release? I assume the Screws are the action screws. Does the button in the trigger guard release the magazine. Or is it fixed and top load only - can you do that with a BRNO?

There is a threaded boss dovetailed into the barrel reinforce for the front screw and along with the centre screw forms the platform. The rear screw is just into the wood. The guard bow release operates a rectangle sliding bar that straddles the original clip to release it at the front as per std Brno.

That’s a clever way of doing it.

Just need to modify the safety to push forward to fire and build it on a left hand action and it would be perfect!!!
