Sharon Dressel just found out that Joe Balickie passed away on 11-29..passed the sad news on to me. Apparenly Caroline (His wife) never initiated any wide pread notificaion

Although he stopped making stocks years ago, his knowledge and humor was well known and pleasantly received

As far as I now, his tapes on stockmakng are still sold through Brownells

Another legend lost. There is at least one of his rifles on GB right now (a 338). And it is a beautiful rifle to be sure.

Watched his checkering video many moons ago. Had the pleasure of meeting him at a Brownells event a few years back. Seems like just a good olé salt of the earth kind of guy, a pleasure to talk with. Picked up a Ruger #1 several years ago that he had stocked for a Gun Digest article. Seems like it was early 80's Gun Digest maybe.

Sorry to hear the news.
