I bought this rifle from a Campfire member, and have since acquired a pre-64 70 in the same caliber. So, this one is up for sale for someone else to hunt with and enjoy.

Stocked in French walnut with an outstanding JOC style pattern, ebony tip, steel bottom metal, cheek-piece, steel grip cap, and I would rate it about 90% condition.

It likes Hornady, Sierra and Noslers, all about 1" at 100 yards....and that's about as good as I can shoot.

$850, shipped to your FFL

Wrong thread or not, that is a nice piece of wood for a model 77 tang sight. The last one I owned had a knot in the butt stock and I felt lucky to have that much "figure" ha. I don't remember Ruger offering checkering of that grade either. Nice looking rifle
