OK, now how do you do it...Gunsmith just emailed to say it is in the hands of FedEx and sent the tracking number. So the question is, how do I make the best of the next 4-6 business days? You can only jump up and down just so many times and I don't drink or smoke...not much left. Pictures and description will follow--real light weight 7X57 on G33/40 with Brown Kevlar (sorry, no way to loose enough weight withot the plastic). Help! Arthur Olds

Had similar problem when waiting for my 338/06. Here are some things that might help:

1. Have you loaded up a bunch of ammo. Different bullets/powders etc. Has to be ready when it arrives you know. Amazing how fast new ones go thru that stuff!
2. Have you picked out/purchased new optics/mounts/rings? Nothing like a new scope on a new rifle! Even if your baby will be scopeless, how about some new binos to complement?
3. Have you mailed out an "new firearm arrival" announcement to all your hunting buddies? This is similar to a birth announcement, but announces a new gun is coming to your household. Maybe your hunting buddies will kick in and have a shower for you in the form of a hunting trip to somewhere.
4. Have you cleared out a special place in your gun cabinet or safe for the new one? Is your reloading bench clean and organized?
5. Have you talked to your other guns about the new family member? If not, now is a good time to do so. You might also buy each of them a little something. That way they wont think the new one is getting all the attention and be jealous. Certainly take them out and give them a good cleaning so they too will be all shiny when the new one arrives.
6. Is your range bag packed and waiting by the door ready to go?

Looking forward to the pics!!

After the agony, checking the FedEx tracking number 20 times a day, following the travels across the country on the FedEx map, wonderng why it is in Kansas, etc., I got a call Friday mornng as I leave for work. Will I be at home between 2 and 4, since it needs to be delivered to the door and signed for (great idea, especially this time of year)? No, I was afraid of that...OK, can you pick it up in Little Rock? Got the address, the wife went right by the place 4 times a day, and now I have it! It is not perfect, but I hunt with mine in rain, mud, cold, 4-wheelers, etc. Muzzleloading on Sat (no deer, again), church on Sunday, range closed Mon and Tues but just wait until Wed. Then I can post pics and a target. Thanks for the advice, addictions are terrible, and I have been planning the next one since before this one!!! Arthur Olds

Are there no "ladies of joy" in your fair city? (Hint: Avoid the ones who dwell in commercial establishments or spend their evenings on sidewalks.)

A nearby university doubtless produces a better class [and less traveled] purveyor of said services. And though the search might be longer, that's some of your waiting time well spent and more fun anyway.

I suggest sneaking up on a red-headed woman and kissing her by surprise- she will either like it or not- either way by the time you get out of the hospital your rifle should be there.
