I'm the lucky new custodian of this Hoffman 375, early first year production (1923), engraved by Rudolf Kornbrath, all the bells & whistles, hope you like it too.

I am not much, on carving, etc. It is very hard to do it with good taste and restraint.

This is probably the second one I have seen I would be pleased to own and show off...

Stock carving isn't everyone's cup of tea, just like engraving.
According to Michael Petrov, Hoffman employed John Wright and his son from Holland & Holland to do their carving.

Awesome..Ive owned a couple of Hoffmans, hard to beat them..sold a 404 or 10.75x68 not sure wich to a AR member some time back. It was a neat later gun (Lubbock Tx gun)...

A friend of mine went to a Jerome Idaho farm auction and bought a beautiful early 375 H&H Hoffman for $800..A bunch of us almost choked..It now belongs to Jack Belk, and he has been offered mucho bucks for it..

In the late 1970's I was asked to sell a .505 Gibbs made by Hoffman Arms for a S W Kerr, who was a very wealthy local attorney. His son had no use for it and I sold it to Wayne Eikenberry at the Ohio Gun Collectors show in Columbus. S W Kerr as a hobby hunted animals for the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh and had the .505 made for Africa. He never got to use it as he died right after receiving the rifle. The son threw away hundreds of rounds of .505 ammo before I found out about it. What was unusual about this rife was that it was fully engraved on the action, floor plate and parts of the barrel. Exceptional wood with carved checkering and best of all it was Gold inlayed with an Elephant, Cape Buffalo and Lion. I think it sold back then for $3,000.00. I had NO money at the time to buy it myself and sold it as a favor to my friend. I have no idea what happened to it.

great rifle...i have serial #8 a .375..that was one built on the one of the 3 actions bought from holland and holland..even have a confirmation from h. & h...i love all hoffmans,,but, with the distinctive h&h triggerguard shape and their bolt handle style it's the best of both british and american.....i also have a john dubiel .300 mag built on the same action.....i reaaly like your rifle, particularily, the carvings....
