I just took possession of a new unfired Model 23 Winchester in 20 Gauge.

I'd like a second set of barrels made for it. possibly a .450-400 nitro. It will also have to include a new forend piece.

Who would you trust to do this? What chambering do you suggest for cape buffalo?

DR prices are down so much now that you can probably buy a good used 450-400 for what barrels will cost.
Yes that is an excellent caliber.

Galazan has problems regulating shotgun barrels , cannot imagine what he could do for a rifle.

Don't know if you are looking for a monoblock for this project but I have a damaged set of 20 gauge barrels that could be sacrificed if you're interested.

I should have worded my earlier comment more specifically. The problems I am aware of were specific to Galazan Model 21's.

I'm not a tech guy so I don't know how to send photo's via photobucket or any of the other platform's. I can send you a cellphone text picture if you willing to give me your cellphone #. Mine is 907-602-1619. But briefly about the barrels and their damage, I had the barrels cut down to 24 inches from28 for oklahoma quail and tubes installed. The gunsmith did a shitty job w the tubes because you can see slight bulges of the threading on the exterior . I shot those barrels for afew years and luckily came across an unblued and unused set of 28 inch barrels that I had installed. The barrels came without ejectors so I had to take them off the 24 inch barrels. I would believe that the barrels could still be kept and used 100 % provided you cut off maybe 2 inches of the section that was "tubed" . But I also believe it is going to be tough to find ejectors. I had midwest gun works in kansas city ffit the 28 inch barrels and they maybe the best place to start looking for a set of ejectors. Again, sorry I can't send pics thru AR . Let me know if you want some via cellphone. Robert
