A really rusty old Fark, my PC was hit by lighting so no before pictures. We cut down the sides of the action .015" to remove the deep pitting and hand polished the remainder, new scratching by Charles Lee, We fit a new 26" Krieger tube in 450/400 with a quarter rib, custom scope bases, shop made front sight and gave it a rust blue. The client made what I feel to be an excellent choice of a Noseke scope which is 7/8" in diameter and looks great while providing the extra eye relief needed to effectively scope a single shot rifle while not cutting into the front ring of the action. It was fitted with a 450/400 barrel devoid of any maker's name and was in deplorable condition. Once I got it home, I had it restocked and rebarreled to .50 Alaskan, since its parent case, .348 Winchester, was the largest Boxer primed rimmed case which was then easily available. The .510" caliber barrel was from John Buhmiller. the famous barrel maker, gunsmith, cartridge developer and African hunter. It stayed in that shape until a couple of years ago, when I turned it over to Steve to work his magic on it. | |||

Must be Steve B ! I would dearly like to rent that old gun and go shoot something with it..it is beautiful, I dearly hope its a 450-400 that would be perfect. I'd have to shoot something big with that! I would sorely be tempted to replace that old Weaver with a 3X Leupold but then maybe not! Ray, it's not a Weaver, it's a 2 1/2X Noske, with gigantic eye relief. And yes, it is a 450/400. | |||
