Searching online gave me the basic history of the rifle. I found the information below on a forum I am not a member, so could not reach out to the person who posted it.
This action does not have the Mauser logo on the bolt shroud as others on the internet show, and more interesting (to me), the s/n is 66000, well below the numbers from this post. Would this be an earlier Heym produced version that made it to the USA? It came to me as a barreled action w/ a semi-inlet stock, so no idea if it came to the USA as a rifle or action. Yes, I know. From another forum, apparently Bauer-Mauser was importing bare actions. Still trying to determine if those were marked with the Mauser logo, or blank like the one I have pictured. | |||
