Is anyone familiar with the stockmaker Robert Mason. I have a very nice custom FN Mauser restocked and rebarreled that is signed by him but I can't seem to find much information. It is clearly very well done and I have seen a couple other rifles attributed to him on various auction sites and they have a similar American Classic style. I would appreciate additional information on his work. Sorry, I'm not talented enough to post photos. thanks.
There is a stockmaker named Robert "Bob" Mason in Weippe, ID. I have seen a fair amount of his work on Mausers and M-70's and he is very good. His # is listed as Two 0 Eight, 435-4one21. Hope that helps. Lee.

Thanks again lee440. after receiving your information, I contacted Mr Mason and was rewarded with much information about him and my particular rifle. He was mentored by Mr Al Biesen and of course the influence is clear. While he doubted he would recall my rifle, indeed he remembered it clearly when I emailed him photos and he informed me of particulars regading this rifle that differed from others he built. Many thanks for providing his contact info!
Weippe Idaho! I hunt Whitetail there every year..A friend has a summer home there..Got a nice 4 point last year..send me his phone number and I;; buy him a cup of coffee or a beer this year..

welcome swm - Don't fear. Give a test try on postimage. Just google them, click on upload near the top left and it will go right to your computer picture files. Click the picture you want and click open at the bottom right and it will download to postimage. Next click share right above the pic and choose hotlink for forums by clicking the copy button on the right. Then get to your AR message and rightclick your mouse and select PASTE. You're done. The pic will show up after you post the conversation. It's not as hard as it seems. New car controls are a helluva lot harder than using postimage. Good luck.

Steve
Mr Mason is in Idaho. I spoke with him and emailed with him also. A fine gentleman who was mentored by Al Biesen. Doesn’t do much work anymore but shared some stories and a photo of his personal Roberts 257 AI. He was kind enough to give me additional information about my rifle.
