I guess the apprenticeship at Purdey's did them well. The Hagn single shot is lovely.

Their Kurz action H&W rifles are a real delight to handle.

Those two are beautiful examples of the gunmakers art.

If I am not mistaken, the single shot rifle pictured with the Hans Eisbacher engraved cougar is not a H&W rifle, but one that Martini and Hagn built and had engraved.I believe without doubt that it is.The stock work is unmistakenly Martini and Hagn's.

Monastery Forester,

what is shown there is a wannabe H&W.

Only the action is made by H&W. You´ll never find such a poor quality on a real H&W rifle.

Though the maker tried to copy the lines.
Even the engraver´s name in that sample "M.Funk"
was nearly copied. Though the engraver of H&W named H.Funk would never produce such a mediocre embellishment.

I´m not so sure.
The Take Down mechanism and the barrel threading technic is typical for H&W . On Hagn´s website you can see that rifle but cited as : Eisbacher engraving on a Hagn action(not Hagn rifle).
Concerning the stockwork I must admit that Hagn certainly has in a wide sense at least influenced that piece of perfection Smiler
Anyway whoever did the whole work,
That´s riflemaking in perfection.

The Hagn in 9,3 on egun is not representative of the family no matter who built them. I have the impression that it is not a genuine H&W. If you want the best of a Hagn these days you must contact Ralf Martini his work on new ideas on the Hagn are outstanding and it is a pleasure to work with him.

The t/d latch and square-form interupted thread appears typical H&W.
H&W will deliver a barreled action. Most likely someone has ordered such, then completed the rifle.
From the H&W takedown rifles[completed in their shop] that ive personally inspected and ones I have closely examined on the internet, none have had such an obvious gap between the plates. The gap seems too exessive for it to be an complete H&W creation.
Unlikely an complete t/d rifle build, would leave the H&W shop in such an sub-standard state.
