Take a look at a GEW 88 Mauser action. Much of the basic receiver and bolt design is the same as the Ducth M95 Mannlicher and Mannlicher Schoenauer. I don't think anyone would consider them adequate for modern high pressure rounds but the early Mauser cartridges would be fine if reasonable handloads were used.

I have a complete Haenel rifle, made in 1904. Beautiful Guild Rifle, double set triggers, schnable forend, side panels on the forend, tapered octagon barrel, even a barrel key. Mine has Lyman front and rear(swivel peep) sights, and a two blade flip up on the mid barrel. They were a commercial version of the GEWEHR 88 rifle., proofed at 52,000PSI. They are safe with factory ammunition, which is loaded a bit below 50K.
