I tend to lean toward the pre-64 Winchester 70 when I commission a custom rifle.

However I do have custom Mausers built upon a BRNO 21H and a 1910 Mexican.

I'm thinking a 7x64 on the 1909...

How'd I do???

Honest question as I have no idea what these are worth, but I figured it was worth 375 to me...

Next step will be deciding who to have build it....

7x64 is a cartridge for which I have accumulated reloading brass, but have no rifle.

Sounds like I did ok then....anything I need to know about the Argie action as a platform for a custom?

Great custom platform, not the cheapest, but very good!

Good price. I nearly bid on this but have 2 Argies in the works now. You won't be sorry, so long as you have it done correctly. Just don't put a Mod 70 safety on it...

I almost bought a 1909 from Jim he had for sale here in 7x57.....which would have duplicated the Mexican Mauser I have.

After LaPour tunes up a Mex for me, it will go to Jim for the stockwork. Essentially the little brother of the Whelen.

Here is your action.

1909

Put a picture up of what the stock might look like.

Why not a M70 safety? The custom I got came with one. Smiler

Get the 'power' or optic that your eye likes instead of what someone else says.

When we go to the doctor they ask us what lens we like!

Do that with your optics.
