This new forum is a good idea! We don't get to see this stuff in the local markets. As close as we get is "custom knives."

Which is the most expensive one-- the one that cost the most to have built? And how much was it in dollars of that year?

The 4 bore double cartridge guns by Ken Owen are the most expensive guns and they were completed in 2007 and 2008. Only 6 were made. The mastodon is the one with full engraving, and is for sale for $98,500.00 there are detailed pictures on the Lewis Drake web site under rifle inventory. A new Searcy 700 nitro costs $85,000 from Butch right now.

Mike, I have actually swapped a few thing since these pics were taken. I got rid of the 500 and 577 double, and picked up another 2 bore and a 600 Rogue,a 500 Jeffery, the Rogus twin, and the ultra light 458 synthetic stocked stainless gu. You made all 3 of them. Safari Kid has posted pics of them earlier in the custom rifle posts. These were all my "500 or over guns at one time". I have a few other nice ones in the 30 and 40 calibers. Been collecting and shooting for almost 30 years now.

Actually, one of the 4 bores, the 2 bore and the 700 nitro are left handed too. The 700 has a right handed stock on it, because the wood is nicer, but I have the original left handed stock to go with it and the triggers are set for a lefty. I am left handed so if I have one made for me it will be a lefty model. Some of these were obtained through the secondary market.A lot of them from Safari Kid. Over the last 30 years, I have gotten very used to shooting right handed rifles left handed.

I will send pictures of the two bore double for someone to post if anyone is interested. Colin will probably have plenty of pictures posted under his posts in the big bore category .

somewhere in my life I have made the wrong choices, career, education, maybe both. Whatever the case, I envy you at least 1/2 of your guns. Hell I'd even take the muzzle loaders if it meant I could have the rest. Beautiful collection, you have the shoulders of Atlas!

I have spent 30 years collecting gun and spent most of my money on them. I only have one child left at home and she is a senior in high school. raised 3 others and had one pass away 6 years ago. I put most of my money into gun, don't own a fancy house, fancy cars or have any other play toys. But I do like my guns.

Terry....I paid to shoot a few of them at a Big Bore Shoot. 600 Overkill, 700Nitro, 700AHR, and the Mastodon 4-bore. The 4-bore was the most fun shootin' too! I liked them so much I was inspired to purchase a 600 Overkill.

The BigDog has some really cool stuff! Gun Porn to the tune of Al Bundy's "Big'Uns" Big Grin

Mike if things go right, I will have another couple of two bores, another 600 o.k. and another 500 jeffery in the stable in a few more months. I will get someone to post some pics after I get them all. I did sell one of the 4 bore double a while back though.

I have shot BD's two biggest toys. His original Owens 4-bore double a couple years ago, and the 2-bore percussion single shot pistol, just last month at Colin's house.

I don't think I could afford to buy the lead to cast the roundballs...

Fun stuff, though.
