Duane's customer wanted just a touch of English scroll and border work applied to his rifle. He also wanted the rifle to reflect it's Mauser heritage with a Mauser banner on the buttplate along with some cross hatching so the buttplate doesn't feel slippery on the shoulder.

I will post more photos of the project as I complete them in real time.

Great work.

Doing that cross hatching would be difficult looking at it!

Cheers, Chris

Here's a couple more photos.

Action proper (stippled) with cross hatched scope mounts.

Rear sight leaves...there's platinum lines in there. Honest!

I had a BRNO mod 1 I was very intent on making a fine custom out of. Just like this!

Stupidly I sold it in a week moment!

New owner, chopped barrel and stock, installed suppressor, painted it in cammo colours..

It made me sick for a few days after finding out..

All done! Nice working on top flight projects. Wiebe's metal work is impeccable as usual.

That will be one damn fine .22!

How is a buttplate like this made? Is it cast or is the detail cut? Incredible.

Here is how Mauser did it on their EB 340/350 series of 22's. Nice but not quite a classy as Duane's

Ah, I was thinking it was cut metal. Still, a perfect example.
