Yes, Mark at First Stop certainly prices their trades and used guns very aggressively. Nice buy to boot!

The grain flow would scare me on that one if you were to hunt with it much. Mac

Mac, I saw that turned grain in the wrist too. Yet, at least 70% of the grain at the action flows back down through the wrist the way it looks. Assuming a good tight wood to metal fit top and bottom, seems well ample enough for 3300 ft/lbs of muzzle energy. That's only 10% higher than an '06.

You could possibly be right. I hate the look of grain when it flows up. And I would also be concerned about the toe. Seen many rifles with the edge broke off when the grain runs like that. Mac

Now I see what you mean at the toe. I've seen a couple with that area chipped off too and many had less of an angle in the grain than this one. For what it's worth, most if not all of those had a soft butt pad behind a rigid plastic spacer. The spacer survived but the wood was trashed and they were not $9,000 guns either. Thanks for pointing that out. Life itself is a gift. Live it up if you can.

Is it true that Dean Zollinger does all of his metal work? I have read this more than a few times.

Extremely impressed with the checkering. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but artfully executed. On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died. I own a beautiful Bollinger rifle in .325 WSM that I bought at auction a while back. I'll never shoot it, so I don't need to own it. If anyone is interested, I'll sell it for $8000 plus shipping or free delivery in Texas. I paid something around $9000 plus all in. xxxxxxxxxx When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere. NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.
