Here is Bluefish's completed 9.3, left handed Mauser. He will come on later and tell who did the stock.

And he should be quite happy with that rifle. Looks great. It could be the photo lighting, but I really like the lighter shade of the stock.

9.3X62 I presume?

9.3x62 1930 Mauser Osa Johnson pattern barrel. I lightened up the pics; I do not know what color it actually is.

Very nice- is that a tip-up hood on the front sight? Of your design or other? Quite interesting!

Very nice rifle.

What does the barrel diameter measure?

A very well done rifle in one of my favorite calibers!

Awaiting shipment of the gun back to me although Dennis says he doesn't want to give it back because it shoots so good.

He said his best group with irons was 3/4" @100 yards. He said he feels it is one of his better builds and said he really loves the barrel profile Tom used. He said the 25" length lets it sing and has had offers from some of his elk hunters.

"Exceedingly good" were the exact words Dennis used so I am excited. Will hopefully tumble a nice Maine whitetail in a couple of weeks with it. Will see about posting some field pics when I get it.

Outstanding! That comes from the Douglas XX barrels I use, profiled to the Mauser Oberndorf contour.

Nice to see someone going longer than shorter on the 9.3. This is exactly what I would do.

Lovely - I will let you have the address of my local firearms dealer and you can ship it there.

Seriously a very nice rifle. What action is this built on and from where are they available.

That is a Zastava left handed Mauser action; not sure where he got it.
I make all my 9.3 barrels 25 inches. No good reason; just because.

so I received this from Dennis two days ago. It is a dream. the handling is so good the weight is deceiving. it is trim and svelte as one would expect a proper mauser to be.

Dennis got some cast into the stock and shot in the irons reporting the prvi ammo he used was excellent and consistent.

the semi open grip has that "running" feel if you know what I mean and the 25" barrel hangs and tracks beautifully. the stock mounts naturally and has something between 1/2 and 3/4" of drop at the heel (will have to officially measure).

most pleasing is the quality of the inletting and wood to metal fit as well as the checkering which covers the top of the pistol grip where the thumb wraps over. it's a little lighter in color than I originally wanted but it is really growing on me.

going to take her for the inaugural hunt this weekend and will be happy to give a followup. I could not recommend Dennis or Tom more highly and Kerry stottlemeyr for his work making the scope bases.

Thanks, men for helping build a family heirloom.

Beautiful rifle.

If you ever do a Biebs and want to sell it - I am interested. I doubt anyone does Biebs - build custom rifles and sell them Wink

Enjoy the rifle.

For some reason I cannot see anything from Photobucket. Will have to check again when I get home.

Bluefish, is it on the Zastavas I sold you?

Yes Mart it is. Very nice action it turned out to be. I carried it Saturday and passed on a couple of deer but am in hope of blooding it soon. Everyone who held it in camp was appreciative of the workmanship and were interested in learning more about the 9.3 caliber.

If we can get Gentry to finish their run of LH safeties I'd like to get dpcd going on the companion rifle in 7x57.

Stuart Satterlee sells left hand 3 position Mauser safeties. I bet he has some in stock. They are not cheap:
