That's like asking how much should your wife weigh. It all depends on the barrel and stock you put on it; here are the action weights, Enfield with ears removed: Everyone thinks that Enfields are big hogs of steel; but they actually aren't that much heavier than others. 1917 Enfield; 46.35 ounces 98 Mauser; (vz24) 44.9 ounces Post 64 Win Model 70 44.9 ounces .Yes exactly same as 98. | |||

The last two I built in 404 and 416 Rem. weighed 8.5 and 8.75 pounds naked. I could have shaved a half a pound on either one of them, but a little extra weight makes for less recoil..Both calibers should be at least 9 to 9.5 scoped and ready IMO.
