Figured I should post this here as a few AR members had a hand in the build. This rifle came out just like I had in my mind's eye, and she shoots great.

Stock blank: Erdem Walnut, the owner, Oguz, is a great person to deal with.

Action and feed work: Action is a Satterlee that I acquired from McKay, (Thank you Mac). Stuart did the feedwork to make sure it would function with the North Fork flat point solids that I like. Did he nail that job, they feed like poop through a goose.

Metalwork: Morris Milani owner at Alaska Arms. Morris did the custom barrel profile on a Krieger blank. He also milled the bridges for his CZ style QD rings.

Engraving: Our own Roger Kehr aka Scrollcutter did the minimal engraving and gold inlay. I took some que's here from a rifle that Duane Wiebe did for Mike Jines. I always felt the amount of engraving on that rifle was a nice balance, just right, not too much.

Stockwork: Steve Durren did the stock and checkering. Gun fits like a glove.

Photos from my great friend Ed G.

Absolutely stunning!
Morris and Stuart are some of the best metalsmiths in the business. That action and barrel combination is as good as it gets. The stock work and engraving are phenomenal as well.
Mjines' Wiebe rifle was an inspiration to me as well when I built my .404. The subtle engraving is just right on that rifle and yours.
Congrats!

Beauty of a rifle.

Many processes very well done to the highest degree of mastery, lots of moving parts, not just in the rifle, but the infrastructure as a whole, the invisible hand still works for now.

May that very rifle help you fulfill that dream of collecting the key species it was built for.

It was nice to meet you in person. So many times, clients are ether and voice over the phone a text or an e-mail. Few people actually take time out to come and visit.

I thank you for your business and the fact you care enough about this to come for a visit. It's appreciated.

Beautiful rifle.

I thoroughly enjoyed the small part I played in the process. Gundog was great to work with!

Well executed by all of the artisans involved in the rifle!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Lovely rifle, best caliber, drips nostalgia, and thats what a 404 should do, 93 gr. of 4831 and a 450 gr. woodleigh (hopefully) and it just doesn't get any better than that. Perfection personified.

Stuart,
It was our pleasure, we don't know how to thank you enough for the time you took out of your day to visit with us. The fact that your wife was born in the same town we hunt in was a real surprise, and the fact that we knew so many of the same people. I was also shocked when you told me how much time you spent getting the action to feed those flat nose solids I like so much, especially compared to the bill for that amount of work, you should have charged me more.We will not be in the Dakota's this fall having just taken our vacation this week, but would love to come back and see you again if you will have us. Thank you again for all you did to move this rifle along.

Roger,
You were the pleasure to work with. Exceptional quality and FANTASTIC communication. Many self employed people could take a great lesson from you on how to communicate with a customer. No detail was left to chance, you finished the job ahead of schedule, and did everything promised.
