I have a receiver sight, much like Redfields or Marbles older receiver sights. Its all steel..

The interesting part is that it came off a Westley Richards .425 and was pinned and soldered to the loading lips.

It has no holes for screws in it, so it was made by WR especially for the model rifle or perhaps made for WR under contract??

Anyone got any information on these sights. I will probably sell it at some point, or may just keep it for display if its worth it???

You have a modified Parker Hale rear aperture sight. Windage arm has been remove and upper bracket machined to accept the ghost sight. Lower had been machined to fit receiver. Looks to be a number in upper left corner of windage arm. Maybe PH17? Ron

The number is PH25 and it came off an early Wesley Richards .425 WR cal 98 Mauser, and was attached with pins that were attached to the side clips and inserted into small hole in the bottom of the unit and soldered...Makes since that the PH stands for Parker Hale, but the unit has no other means of attachment in other words no screw hole to fit to an action, so perhaps they were made especially for WR rifles with side clips. I have seen many Parker Hale receiver sights, but none this old or that were made to attach in such a manner.

The lower appears to be machined to fit the Mauser 98 receiver but only attached to the side clips as stated and the action was not drilled and tapped..Just thought it was an interesting old sight. Would be a nice sight to install on a WR .425, as that is the only Big bore with side clips to enhance feeding the rebated case.
