I am considering a Richards Microfit old classic #102 for my 77 Tang safety SA Ruger. Please give me the lowdown on this company, I have heard good and bad reports.

Also considering a semi fancy walnut ILO the laminate. Any recommendations on minimum grade.

Do a search here and you'll find that the general consensus is Richards pretty much sucks.

Personally, I would select my wood from a reputable seller and send it to someone who turns gunstocks. I have used Donnie Gemes at Show-Me Gunstocks {(660) 438-4568} for turning quite successfully. These are not drop-in and do require some inletting and finishing skills. I would call Donnie regarding wood and turning (he does keep a good supply of wood on hand) and time for delivery. I have experienced as little as 1 week turnaround, but 2 weeks is the norm.

Thanks for the replies guys. I am thinking of an OEM from Numrich gun parts. Less mess.
